Main ingredients: maida/ all purpose flour and sugar.

  1. 1 cup plain flour/ all purpose flour/ maida.
  2. 1 cup sugar.
  3. 1 Tsp cardamom pwd.
  4. 1 tsp lemon juice.
  5. 2 ½ tbsp ghee.
  6. Oil for deep frying.


  1. Place the plain four along with ghee in a mixing bowl.
  2. Knead the dough by adding little water to tight dough. Cover with lid and let stand for 10 minutes.img_9730
  3. In the mean time,  to make sugar syrup, in a wide bowl, place the sugar along with 1½ cup of water, cardamom pwd and lemon juice and let it simmer for 1 string consistency.
  4.  Turn off flame and cover with lid. Keep aside until use.
  5. Knead again the dough. Make lemon sized balls out of the mixture.img_9977
  6. Roll out each ball using rolling pin like small puri.img_9981img_9982
  7. Fold each puri like triangle shape as shown in the pic.img_0047img_0050img_9999
  8. Combine 2 edges and slightly press them with your fingers as shown in the figure.
  9. Repeat the same for the rest of the puris
  10. Make all the puris like roses.
  11. Mean while heat oil in a frying pan on over low flame.img_0017img_0051
  12. Slowly slide the prepared roses one by one and fry them on over low flame until you get nice golden hue.img_0034
  13. Drain and put them into the prepared sugar syrup till they are completely into it.img_0040
  14. Once they absorb the syrup, remove the roses from the sugar syrup.

Once cool, keep them in an air tight container.
