Spicy pakoda mixture is one of the south Indian popular snack/ chaat can be easily prepared at home. This is one of my kids favorite chaat. They enjoyed it so much on rainy day.

This is really easy to prepare and taste delicious  🙂  🙂

Main ingredients: Bengal gram flour, onion and cilantro.

Preparation: 25 minutes (approx).

To serve: 4.

SPICY PAKODA MIXTURE/ PAKORA CHAAT

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 cup Bengal gram flour/ besan / sanaga pindi.
  2. Salt- to taste.
  3. 1 pinch red chilly pwd.
  4. 1 pinch garam masala pwd.
  5. 1 big pinch soda bi carbonate.
  6. 2 medium onions (very finely chopped).
  7. 2-3 green chilies (very finely chopped).
  8. 4 tbsp very finely chopped cilantro/ coriander leaves.
  9. 1 medium lemon.
  10. oil to deep fry.

PREPARATION:

  1. In a bowl, place the Bengal gram flour along with half of the chopped onion, half of the chopped cilantro, green chilies, salt, soda bicarbonate.
  2. Gradually add sufficient water to this mixture and combine to make a fine batter.

    The batter should not too thick or too thin. Keep aside.

  3. Heat oil in a frying pan, drop gently the batter like shape less dumplings and fry them until golden brown. Drain the pakodas to a bowl.IMG_8831

  4. Cut the pakodas into small pieces with knife.IMG_8845IMG_8863
  5. Pour the pakoda pieces into a mixing bowl, add one by one remaining chopped onion, cilantro, 1 pinch of salt, 1 pinch garam masala pwd, 1 pinch red chilly pwd.
  6. Squeeze out, half of the lemon on the top of the mixture and mix everything well.
