Main ingredients: mango, milk and sago and vermicelli.

Preparation: 35- 45 minutes.

Serves: 4-6.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. ½ liter creamed milk.
  2. 1 cup mango puree.
  3. ½ cup roasted vermicelli.
  4. 2 tbsp sago/ sabudana/ saggu biyyam.
  5. 150 grams sugar or as per to taste.
  6. 1 tsp cardamom pwd.
  7. A pinch of salt.
  8. A few roasted cashew nuts+ a few almonds+ a few raisins or any dry fruits of your choice.
  9. A few saffron threads.(optional).

Preparation of Mango Kheer

  1. Heat milk with 1 cup of water in a cooking vessel, bring it to a boil, add sago.
  2. Let it cook, stirring continuously, till the sago almost tender.
  3. Add roasted vermicelli and cook again until done.
  4. Add sugar, stir until it melts completely.
  5. Now add saffron threads, a pinch of salt and cardamom pwd and mix.
  6. Turn off flame and let it cool.
  7. Once tepid, stir in the mango puree. Pour into serving glasses.
  8. Serve the kheer chilled, garnished with roasted dry fruits.
