Main ingredients: prawns and spices.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 500 grams cleaned king prawns.
  2. 1 big onion (chopped).
  3. 4 green chilies (chopped).
  4.  Salt to taste.
  5. 1 big pinch turmeric pwd.
  6. 2-3 tbsp oil.
  7. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  8. 1 ½ tsp red cilly pwd.
  9. 2 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro.

MASALA ITEMS:

  1. 1 tbsp chopped coconut.
  2. 1 tbsp poppy seeds/ khas/ khas/ gasagasalu.
  3. 6-8 cloves/ lovng/ lavangalu.
  4. 1 cardamom/ elaichi/ yaluka.
  5. 1” cinnamon stick/ dalchini/ dalchina chekka.

  • Grind the above mentioned (masala items) together to a fine paste using 2-3 tbsp of water.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking vessel on over low flame.
  2. Add chopped onion and green chilies and saute for a minute.
  3. Add neatly washed prawns, salt, turmeric pwd and red chilly pwd and combine.

  4. Without lid, let it cook, stirring constantly for 10- 12 minutes or till the water evaporates.

  5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until fragrant.IMG_8465

  7. Add 2 cups of water, bring it to a boil, cover with lid and simmer for about 15- 20 minutes or till the curry reaches to desired gravy consistency. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.IMG_8518

Serve hot with steamed rice.
