INGREDIENTS:

  1. ½ kg chicken (neatly washed).
  2. 1 medium onion (chopped).
  3. 3-5 green chilies(slit and cut into 2 pieces).
  4. Salt- to taste.
  5. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  6. 1 ½ tsp red chilly pwd.
  7. 1 tbsp coriander pwd.
  8. ¼ tsp black pepper pwd.
  9. 1 tsp chicken masala pwd or (powdered 6 cloves + ½ “cinnamon stick + 1 cardamom).
  10. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  11. 1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice.
  12. 2 tbsp coriander leaves.
  13. 2 or more than 2 sprigs curry leaves.
  14. 2-3 tbsp oil.

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces along with all above ingredients (except green chilly bits, coriander leaves, curry leaves and oil) and mix.
  2. Keep it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

METHOD:

  1. In a heavy bottomed cooking pan, cook covered the marinated chicken by adding little water on medium flame for 15- 20 minutes or till the water almost evaporates. Keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a frying pan on over low flame.
  3. Add cooked chicken and stir fry for 10- 12 minutes or till the pieces turn to golden brown color.

  4. Finally add green chilly bits, coriander leaves and curry leaves and cook for another minute.

Serve hot as a side dish with rasam rice or sambar rice or biriyani or any type of roti.
