INGREDIENTS:

  1. 2 cups rice flour.
  2.  ½ cup black gram (skin less) flour/ minapa pindi/ urad dal flour.
  3. Salt- to taste.
  4. 2 tbsp ghee or butter.
  5. 2 tbsp sesame seeds/ nuvvulu.
  6. ¼ tsp asafetida/ hing/ inguva (optional).
  7. 1 tsp red chilly pwd.
  8. Oil to deep fry.

We need muruku maker/ muruku press/chakrala giddalu to make chakralu.

  1. In a wide bowl add all above ingredients (except oil) and mix well with your hand.
  2. Add sufficient water gradually to make a fine dough (make sure that the dough should not be too hard or soft).
  3. Heat oil in a wide frying pan on high flame.
  4. Take some prepared dough in your hand, make cylindrical shape and fill it in to the chakralu maker and press gently in the hot oil.

  5. Deep fry till they turn to golden brown hue.
  6. Remove them on an absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  7. Once cool, store in an air tight container.
