INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 capsicum (cubed).
  2. 1 cup fresh green peas/ matar/ patchi batani.
  3. 2 medium tomatoes (chopped).
  4. 1 medium onion or 2-3 spring onions. (chopped)
  5. 1 sprig curry leaves.
  6. Salt-to taste.
  7. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  8. ½ tsp red chilly pwd.
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder. (optional).
  10. 1/4 garam masala pwd.
  11. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves/ cilantro.
  12. 1 tbsp oil.
  13. 1 tsp cumin seeds/jeera/ jeelakarra.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan, add cumin seeds and saute for a few sec.
  2. Add chopped onion and saute another few seconds.
  3. Then add curry leaves,green peas, capsicum bits, salt and turmeric pwd and cook, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.

  4. Add chopped tomato and cover with lid.

  5. Let stand for 3 minutes or until the tomato pieces tender.

  6. Remove lid, add garam masala pwd.
  7. Cook stirring till the curry just starts to get thick. garnish with onion greens.

  8. Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
