INGREDIENTS:

  1. ½ kg chicken/ naatu kodi.(Neatly washed).
  2. 1 medium onion (chopped).
  3. 2 green chilies. (Chopped).
  4. 1 medium tomato (roughly chopped).
  5. 2 tbsp curd.
  6. 2 tbsp chopped coconut.
  7. Salt- to taste.
  8. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  9. 2 tbsp fresh finely chopped cilantro.
  10. 2 sprig curry leaves.

MASALA INGREDIENTS:

  1. 2 dry red chilies.
  2.  1 tbsp coriander seeds/ dhania/ dhaniyalu.
  3.  1 tbsp poppy seeds/ khaskhas/ gasagasalu.
  4.  ½ tsp cumin seeds/ jeera/ jeelakarra.
  5. 4-5 black pepper kernels/ miriyalu.
  6. 4-5 cloves/ loung/ lavangalu.
  7. 1” cinnamon stick/ dalchini/ dalchina chakka.
  8. 1 cardamom/ yaluka.

PREPARATION:

  1. Dry roast the all above masala ingredients. Once cool, without using water, grind them I n a mix jar to a fine powder.
  2. Then add a little water and grind again to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
  3. Grind the roughly chopped tomatoes to a fine paste. Keep aside.
  4. Grind the chopped coconut to a fine paste. Keep aside.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan on medium flame. Add chopped onion and green chilies and saute for a 30 sec.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till u get a nice aroma.
  3. Add neatly washed chicken pieces, salt and turmeric pwd and stir fry until the water evaporates.

  4. Now add prepared masala paste, tomato paste, coconut paste, curd and curry leaves and well combine.
  5. Add 2 cups of water and mix.

  6. Cook covered on low flame for 15- 20 minutes or until done.

  7. Add chopped cilantro and mix. Turn off flame, when you get the required gravy consistency.

Serve hot with steamed rice, any type of biryani or any type of roties.
