INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 cup Gram flour/ sanaga pindi.
  2. 2 medium capsicums (cut into small cubes).
  3. 1 medium onion (finely chopped).
  4. 2 tbsp finely chopped A coriander leaves or 1 sprig curry leaves.
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. 2 pinch soda bi carbonate. (baking soda)
  7. Oil- for deep fry.

  1. In a bowl, place the gram flour along with all above ingredients and mix.
  2. Add sufficient water to make a fine batter. (the batter should not be too thin or too thick like idly batter).

METHOD:

  1.  Heat sufficient oil in a wide frying pan on over low flame.

  2. Take a small amount of batter in the hand and drop gently to form small pakodas. (as shown in the picture).
  3. Once the pakodas puff up, turn over, and cook the other side.

  4. Stirring occasionally, deep fry, the pakodas till they turn to golden brown color.

  5. Drain on absorbent paper.

Serve hot as a snack with tomato ketchup or with a cup of tea. They also go well as a starter and as a side dish of sambar or any type dal 🙂 🙂
