INGREDIENTS:

  1. 200 grams neatly cleaned prawns.
  2. 1 big onion (chopped).
  3. 1 big tomato (finely chopped).
  4. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  7. 2 sprigs curry leaves.
  8. 2 tbsp oil.

INGREDIENTS FOR MASALA PASTE:

  1. 2-3 dry red chilly.
  2. 1 tbsp chopped coconut.
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds.
  4. ¼ tsp black peppercorns.
  5. 1 tbsp coriander pwd or coriander seeds.
  6. 2 tbsp yogurt (curd).
  7. 1 tsp prawns masala or (4 cloves+ 1” cinnamon stick+ 2 cardamom)
  8. 5- 10 fennel seeds (optional).

PREPARATION:

  • In a food processor place the masala Ingredients along with a little water. Grind until fine and smooth paste. Keep aside.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking vessel on medium flame.
  2. Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Add neatly washed prawns, salt and turmeric pwd and still fry for 7- 10 minutes till the water evaporates.

  4. Add chopped tomato and stir till they mushy.

  5. Now add ground masala paste and stir for a few sec.

  6. Add water and curry leaves and mix. Cook covered for 15 minutes or until done.
