Main ingredients:  Matar (green peas) and paneer and cashew nuts.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 ½ tbsp oil.
  2. 1 cup fresh green peas/matar/ patchi batani.
  3. 1 cup paneer cubes (cottage cheese).
  4. 2 medium onions (roughly chopped).
  5. 2 green chilies.
  6. 2 medium tomatoes (roughly chopped).
  7. Spices (2- 3 cloves +1” cinnamon stick + 1 cardamom).
  8. ¼ cup cashew nut paste.
  9. ½ tsp ginger garlic paste.
  10. Salt  to taste.
  11. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  12. ½ tsp red chilly pwd.
  13. 1 tbsp garam masala pwd.
  14. 1 tbsp coriander pwd.
  15. 1 small cup yogurt.
  16. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.

PREPARATION:

  • Grind the chopped onion, tomatoes and green chilies to a fine paste.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a nonstick cooking pan on medium flame.
  2. Add spices and saute for a few sec.

  3. Add prepared onion tomato paste, ginger garlic paste, fresh green peas, salt and turmeric pwd and stir fry for 5-7 minutes or till the oil separates.

  4. Now add cashew nuts paste, red chilly pwd, coriander pwd, garam masala pwd  and yogurt and well combine.

  5. Add water and mix. Cover with lid and simmer for 7- 10 minutes.

  6. When the curry reaches to thick gravy consistency, add paneer cubes and coriander leaves and mix.

  7. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes and serve hot with pulka or any type of roti.
