INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 cup patchi senagalu/ katcha chana/ whole Bengal gram.
  2. 2 medium tomatoes. (Roughly chopped).
  3. 1 medium onion. (Roughly chopped).
  4. 1 green chilly (roughly chopped).
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  7. 1 tbsp coriander pwd.
  8. ½ tsp red chilly pwd.
  9. ½ tsp chana masala pwd.(optional)
  10. ½ tsp garam  masala pwd.
  11. ½ tsp ginger garlic paste.
  12. 1 tsp cumin seeds.
  13. 1 ½ tsp oil.
  14. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan on over low flame. Add cumin seeds and stir for a few seconds.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and stir again for 2 minutes or until fragrant.

  3. Now add onion and tomato paste, patchi sanagalu (whole Bengal gram), salt and turmeric pwd and cook for 3-5 minutes or till the oil separates.

  4. Add red chilly pwd, chana masala pwd, garam masala pwd and coriander pwd and mix.

  5. Add chopped coriander leaves and 1 cup water and cook for another 10- 15 minutes or till the Bengal gram are properly cooked.

  6. Turn off flame, when the curry reaches to desired gravy consistency.

Serve hot with rice or any type of roti.
