INGREDIENTS:

  1. 6-8 eggs (boiled and de shelled).
  2. ½ kg onions (chopped).
  3. 2 green chilies (chopped).
  4. 2 medium tomatoes (chopped).
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. 1big pinch Turmeric pwd.
  7. 1 and half tsp red chilly pwd.
  8. 1 small cup thick tamarind pulp.
  9. 1-2 tsp sugar.
  10. 2 cups water.

FOR TEMPERING:

  1. 2 tbsp oil.
  2. 1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera/ jeela karra.
  3. 1 tsp split black gram (skin less)/ urad dal/ minappappu.
  4. 1 tsp mustard seeds/ rai/ aavaalu.
  5. 1 sprig curry leaves.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan on medium flame, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, split black gram and let them splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves chopped onion. Green chilies, salt and turmeric pwd and mix.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally for 10- 15 minutes or till the oil separates.

  4. Add chopped tomato and stir for 2 minutes or till the tomato pieces turn to soften.

  5. Add red chilly pwd and mix.

  7. Add tamarind pulp, sugar and water and mix. Cover with lid and simmer for 10 minutes or till the curry reaches to required gravy consistency.

  8. Serve hot with white rice.
