Main ingredients: rice flour and chick peas.

Cook time: 30- 45 minutes (approx).

INGREDIENTS:

  1. ½ kg rice flour.
  2. 100 grams chick peas (grind into soft powder).
  3. 50 grams sesame seeds.
  4. 2 tbsp ghee.
  5. Salt – to taste.
  6. 2 tsp red chilly pwd.
  7. Oil- sufficient for deep frying.

METHOD:

  1. In a wide bowl, place the rice flour and add the ground chickpeas powder, sesame seeds, salt, red chilly pwd, ghee and mix very well.

  2. Add enough water and knead into a soft dough.
  3. Fill the dough in a chakli presser and press on a plastic paper to make a small janthikalu (as shown in the picture).

  4. Mean while heat oil in a deep frying pan on high flame.
  5. Slide the prepared janthikalu gently and deep fry till the janthikalu are evenly fried on both the sides.

  6. Drain on absorbent paper (to remove excess of oil).

  7. Let them cool and preserve in an airtight container.
