Main ingredients: wheat rawa, ghee and sugar.

Cook time: 30 minutes.

Godhumarawa Halwa

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 cup wheat rawa.
  2. 1 cup sugar.
  3. 2 tbsp ghee.
  4. two and half cups water.
  5. 1 tsp cardamom pwd.
  6. 10 cashew nuts (broken).
  7. 10- 20 raisins (kismis).

METHOD:

  1. Heat the ghee in a frying pan, roast the cashew nuts and raisins until golden hue. Drain and keep aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the wheat rawa and stir fry with the left over ghee.
  3. Stir fry continuously for 5-7 minutes or till it starts giving out a pleasant aroma. Drain to a plate and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan, bring the water to a boil and add fried wheat rawa and mix well.
  5. Cook covered on low flame for 7– 10 minutes or till most of water is absorbed.
  6. Remove lid and add sugar. Continue to cook, by stirring continuously for 5- 7 more minutes.
  7. As the mixture gets thicker, add cardamom pwd, roasted raisins and cashew nuts and mix well.
  8. Stir for a few minutes until the moisture almost dries up.
