INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 liter milk.
  2. 50 grams sugar.
  3. 1 ½ tbsp ghee.
  4. ½ tsp cardamom pwd.
  5. 7-10 cashew nuts  (broken in half).
  6. 10- 15 raisins/ kismis.
  7. 4-5 saffron threads (optional).

PREPARATION:

  • Roast the cashew nuts and raisins in ghee, till golden hue.

  1. Bring the milk to a boil in a heavy bottomed nonstick pan on over low flame. Simmer for (approx) 25 minutes. Stir continuously.
  2. When the milk reduces to three fourth of the original quantity, add sugar and saffron threads.
  3. Stir continuously to prevent the milk from burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add ghee, cardamom pwd and roasted cashew nuts, raisins and stir for five more minutes till the mixture form a tiny granules and ghee slightly separates.
  5. Pour the mixture into a tray or plate and cool a little and cut into desired shapes (diamonds or squares).
