Main ingredients: lady’s fingers (bendakayalu) and chickpeas.

Prepare time: 10- 15 minutes and cook time: 15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 12- 15 lady’s fingers.
  2. Oil: 1 tbsp (for shallow fry).
  3. Salt- to taste.
  4. ½ tsp Red chilly pwd.
  5. Small cup chickpeas.
  6. 1 tsp Cumin seeds.
  7. 2 flakes garlic.

PREPARATION:

  1. First cut the edges of each lady’s finger and then slit in the middle. Keep aside.
  2. In a mix jar, grind the cumin seeds along with flakes garlic to a course. Then add chick peas to this mixture and grind again to a course powder.
  3. Now add little water grind for 2-3 seconds to a course paste.

  4. Now stuff the lady’s fingers with the chickpeas paste as shown in the picture.

  5. Fry the stuffed lady’s fingers in one table spoon of oil on low flame.

  6. Cover and cook for 7- 10 minutes till the lady’s fingers become tender.
  7. Flip over and cook another 7 minutes until the lady’s fingers turn to light golden hue.

  8. Serve hot as side dish with dal or sambar.
