Main ingredients: gherkins (dondakayalu), coconut, green chilies.

Preparation: 15- 25 minutes.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. ¼ kg gherkins (cut into rounds).
  2. 6-7 green chilies.
  3. Salt- to taste.
  4. 1 tbsp oil.
  5. 1” tamarind piece.
  6. ½ tsp Cumin seeds.
  7. 2-3 flakes garlic.
  8. 2 tbsp s chopped coriander leaves.

PREPARATION:

  • Heat oil in a pan on low flame, add green chilies and chopped gherkins and stir fry till the gherkins turn to light golden brown color. Cool and keep aside.

METHOD:

  1. In a mix jar, place the cumin seeds, flakes garlic, salt and tamarind. Grind them slightly.

  2. Now add chopped coconut, fried gherkins and green chilies and grind to a course paste using a little water.

  3. Check the salt and add little salt if necessary and add chopped coriander leaves and grind to a fine paste. refrigerate till ready to serve.

Serve with white rice or any type of break fast.
