  1. 2 cups raw rice. (Soaked 2-3 hours  and neatly washed and drained).
  2. 1 cup black gram (skin less). (Soaked for 2-3 hours and neatly washed and drained).
  3. 50 gm Sugar.
  4. 100 gm coconut or ½ piece. (Cut into small pieces).
  5. 100 gm jaggery (grated).
  6. 2 pinch Salt.
  7. 1 cardamom.
  8. 1and half cup Oil for deep frying.

PREPARATION:

  1. In a mix jar add all above ingredients along with water (except oil) and grind into a fine batter of dropping consistency and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan on over low heat.

  3. Pour in a ladle full of ground batter (gently) into the hot oil (as shown in the picture).
  4. Deep-fry for 2 minutes or till the pongadalu puff up.

  5. Flip it over.Cook on both sides (for a minute) till golden brown hue.
