Main ingredients: cluster beans and tomatoes.

Cooking time: approx 30 minutes.

Serves- 3-4 people.

INGREDIENTS:

  1.  ¼ kg Cluster beans (peel and cut in to 2 pieces if necessary).
  2. 5-7 medium tomatoes (finely chopped).
  3. 1 onion (chopped).
  4. 2 green chilies (chopped).
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. 1 pinch Turmeric pwd.
  7. 1 tsp red chili pwd.
  8. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Water- ¾ cup.

FOR TEMPERING:

  1. 2-3 tbsp oil.
  2. 1 tsp Cumin seeds.
  3. 1 tsp mustard seeds.
  4. 1 tsp split black gram (skin less).
  5. 1 sprig curry leaves.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and split black gram. Let them splutter, add curry leaves, chopped onion, green chilies, turmeric pwd and salt and sauté for a minute. Add cluster beans and sauté 5 minutes or until tender.

  2. Add chopped tomato and cover with lid and let stand for 3 minutes (for tender).
  3. Remove lid and sauté until the mixture thicken.

  4. Add water and mix. And simmer for 5-7 minutes or till the curry reaches to desired gravy consistency.

  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and transfer into serving bowl.

Serve hot with rice or roti.
