  1. 2 drum sticks/ mulakkayalu. (Cut into 4-5“ pieces).
  2. 4 medium size tomatoes (chopped).
  3. 2 medium size onion (chopped).
  4. 2 green chilies (chopped).
  5. 2 tbsp poppy seeds.
  6. 6-8 cashew nuts.
  7. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  8. Salt- to taste.
  9. 2 cups of water.
  10. 2 tbsps coriander leaves (chopped).
  11. ½ tsp Garam masala pwd.
  12. 1 tsp coriander pwd.
  13. 1tsp red chili pwd.
  14. 1 pinch Turmeric pwd.

FOR TEMPERING:

  1. 2-3 tbsp Oil.
  2. 1 tsp black gram (skin less).
  3. 1 tsp Mustard seeds.

PREPARTON:

Grind cashew nuts along with poppy seeds into a fine paste. Keep aside.

Grind chopped onions into a course paste. Keep aside.

Now grind chopped tomatoes into a course paste. Keep aside

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a non- stick cooking pan. Add onion paste, drum stick pieces, chopped green chilies, salt and turmeric pwd and stir fry until light pink color.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 5 minutes. Add tomato paste and stir fry till the oil begins separate.

  3. Add coriander pwd, red chili pwd and garam masala pwd, poppy cashew nuts paste and water and mix. Bring it to a boil. Cover with lid and simmer for 5- 7 minutes or till the curry reaches to required gravy consistency. Garnish with coriander leaves.
