Main ingredients: semolina, tomatoes.        Cooking time: 10- 15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1 cup semolina (suji, rawa).
  2. 1 medium carrot (cut into ¼” cubes).
  3. 1 medium onion (chopped).
  4. 2 green chilies (sliced).
  5. 2-3 tomatoes (chopped).
  6. 1 medium potato (cut into ½ “cubes).
  7. ½ tsp ginger garlic paste or 1” ginger (chopped).
  8. 2 tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped).
  9. 3 cups water.
  10. 1 tbsp Ghee.
  11. 1 tbsp lemon juice.

FOR TEMPERING:

  1. 2-3 tbsp oil.
  2. 1 tsp Mustard seeds.
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds.
  4. 1 tsp spilt black gram (skin less).
  5. 1 tsp split bengal gram (skinless).
  6. 10 curry leaves.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai on medium flame, add split Bengal gram, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and split black gram. When they begin to splutter, add curry leaves, onion, green chilies, carrot and potato  and sauté for 2 minutes till they soften.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Add chopped tomato and chopped coriander leaves and sauté until tender.

  3. Now add semolina and sauté for another2 minutes. Transfer into a bowl and keep side.

  4. Pour water in the same kadai and bring it to a boil. Add semolina mixture and cook, stirring continuously, to prevent lumps from forming.

  5. Cook for 3 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed. Cover and cook for a minute or till the semolina is properly cooked.

Drizzle ghee and lemon juice and serve hot.
