INGREDIENTS:

  1. ¼ kg. Cluster beans- (wash, remove string, tear and par-boil with sufficient water in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles).
  2. Salt- to taste.
  3. 1 medium onion (chopped).
  4. 3 green chilies (cut into diagonal shape).
  5. 1 pinch turmeric pwd.
  6. ½ tsp Red chilli pwd.
  7. 2-3flakes garlic (slightly crushed).
  8. 5 sprigs coriander leaves (chopped).

FOR TEMPERING /popu/ taalimpu:

  1. 2-3 tbsp oil.
  2. 1 tsp cuminseeds.
  3. 1tsp mustard seeds.
  4. 1tsp black gram (skinless).
  5. 2 sprigs curry leaves.

METHOD:

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium flame. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and split black gram. Let them splutter.
  2.  Add chopped onion and sauté for few seconds. Add boiled cluster beans, salt and turmeric pwd and stir fry for 7- 10 minutes.

  3. Add green chilies, red chili pwd, slightly crushed flakes garlic, chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves and sauté for a minute. Transfer in to serving bowl.
