ULLI GARELU SERVING BOWL

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Black gram (skin less)/ urad dal/minappappu-1 cup.
  2. Salt- to taste.
  3. Onion- 1 medium (chopped).
  4. Green chillies-2-4 (chopped).
  5. Curry leaves-2 sprigs (chopped).
  6. Cumin seeds-1 tsp.
  7. Oil- for deep frying.

PREPARATION:

  • Soak the urad dal for 2-3 hours. Then wash, drain and grind the urad dal into fine paste with very little water. Put it into a bowl.
  • Now combine the urad batter along with chopped onion, chopped green chillies, salt, cumin seeds and chopped coriander leaves.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Heat oil in a wide frying pan on medium flame. Apply little water on your palms.
  • Take big lemon sized urad batter in to your hand. Now flatten it and make hole in the middle of the urad batter. Drop slowly in to the hot oil.

    •  Now put high flame. Deep fry them until golden brown, then reduce the flame and drain them into a bowl. And serve immediately with tomato chutney or any pickle of your choice.
