INGREDIENTS:

  1. Mutton- 1 kg.
  2. Salt- to taste.
  3. Turmeric powder- 2 pinches.
  4. Red chilly powder- ¾ tbsp.
  5. Coriander powder- 1 tbsp.
  6. Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp.
  7. Coconut paste- 1 tbsp.
  8. Poppy seeds paste- 1tbsp.
  9. Oil-  4-5 tbsps.
  10. Mutton masala powder- 2 tsps. Or (powdered 12 cloves, 2 cardamom, 1” cinnamon stick).
  11. Coriander leaves- ½ bunch (finely chopped).
  12. Onion- 2 medium (chopped).
  13. Green chillies- 4-6 (chopped).
  14. Water- small cup (100 gms).

Preparation:

Except oil, mutton masala powder and chopped coriander leaves, take all the above ingredients in a small pressure cooker, and pressure cook up to 3 whistles.

Wait until the pressure released. Remove the lid and continue to saute until dry. (till the water evaporates).

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat. Add the cooked mutton mixture and stir continuously for 15-20 minutes or till the mutton pieces turn to golden brown color.

Now add the mutton masala powder and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot as a side dish with sambar or dal.
