CHAKRALU WITH ROASTED CHICK PEAS SERVING BOWL

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Rice flour- 2 cups.
  2. Roasted chick peas- ½ cup.
  3. Red chilly powder-1 tea spoon.
  4. Ghee- 3 tbsp.
  5. Salt- to taste.
  6. Sesame – tsp. (optional).

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a heavy bottomed vessel, add the rice flour, roasted chick peas, red chilly powder, ghee, sesame and salt and mix well.
  2. Make the mixture to a soft dough (not too soft) by adding sufficient water.
  3. Mean while heat oil in a heavy bottomed frying pan on medium – high flame.
  4. Take a small portion of dough and make it into a cylindrical shape and fill it into the chakralu maker (muruku press) and close the lid.

    1. Press the chakralu maker carefully over the heated oil and deep fry them until the both sides of chakralu turn to golden color. (as shown in the picture). And drain them in a bowl.

      1. Make the rest of the dough in the same manner.
      2. Store in an air tight container.
