1. Gour beans-300 grams. (goru chikkudu kayalu).
2. Coconut- 2 table spoons (grated).
3. Onion-1 medium (chopped).
4. Green chillies-2 (chopped).
5. Salt- to taste.
6. Red chilli powder- 1table spoon.
7. Turmeric powder-1 pinch.
8. Coriander leaves- 2 table spoons (chopped).
9. Water – sufficient for boiling.

For Tempering:

1. Mustard seeds- ½ tea spoon (ria, avaalu).
2. Split black gram (skin less)-1 tea spoon.
3. Curry leaves-5-10.
4. Oil-2 table spoons.

1. Wash gour beans, boil and remove strings , split each gour bean into two to three pieces.
2. Grind cumin seeds and garlic flakes along with red chilli powder to a course powder.


Cooking Instructions
1. Heat oil in a non-stick cooking pan, add cumin seeds, and split black gram and allow them to splutter. Add curry leaves, chopped onion, green chillies, and sauté for few seconds.
2. Add gour beans, turmeric powder, salt and fry for 10 minutes or till the pieces turn light brown.

3.  add  grated coconut,  garlic and cumin seeds powder and coriander leaves and mix everything well. After 2 minutes, off the stove and serve with roti or rice.
