MAIN INGREDIENT: FISH:

Ingredients:

  1. Fish pieces-10.(wash neatly with turmeric  salt and water)
  2. Salt- to taste.
  3. Onions-2. (chopped).
  4. Turmeric powder-2 big pinches.
  5. Fish masala powder- ½ t spoon. Or (cloves-3, cinnamon stick-small cardmim-1).
  6. Coriander powder-1 tbsp.
  7. Red chilli powder-2 tbsp.
  8. Green chillies-6.
  9. Tamarind- big lemon size. (tamarind pulp soaked in warm water to remove the extract).
  10. Poppy seeds-1tbsp.
  11. Coconut-small piece. (cut in to small pieces, and grind it along with poppy seeds, to a fine paste).
  12. Coriander leaves-1/2 bunch. (cut into small pieces).
  13. Oil-3-4 tbsp.
  14. Water-4 big cups.

15. Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp.

PREPARATION: In a large bowl add the fish pieces, salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, fish masala powder, chopped onion, and  green chilli pieces in it. And mix well till the fish pieces blends with the above ingredients.

COOKIN INSTRUCTIONS:

Take a broad vessel and pour oil in it. Keep on the stove at medium to high flame.

After oil gets heated, put the fish pieces one by one carefully. And fry them until golden hue on one side. Turn them carefully and fry them on the other side

After about 5-10 minutes, all the water from the fish pieces, will evaporate, add coconut and poppy paste, and tamarind paste along with water. Stir carefully, and cover with lid.

When the bubbles will appear, let them cook with half covered lid on simmer, for about 10-15 minutes, or till the gravy reaches thick (desired) consistency.

Then add coriander leave pieces and mix them gently and turn off heat and serve hot with rice.
